What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry means many things to many
people.  It is the oldest and largest Fraternal Order in the world.  This is a
fact agreed by everyone familiar with Masonry, but we, the members of the great Craft,
    know many more facts.

Masonry is not a secret society, but a society with secrets that pertain to our
obligation, mode of recognition, passwords, grips, and portions of our ritual.  Our
members make no attempt to conceal their Masonic affiliation, often proudly wearing rings
or other jewelry marking them as Masons.  Meeting places are prominently located and
clearly marked.  Dates and times of meetings are often advertised in newspapers or
    posted on bulletin boards.

Freemasonry is not a religion, but is religious in character.  It teaches men to be
better men by inculcating in the minds of its members those virtues which are recognized
as prerequisites for better lives:  Brotherhood, Morality, Justice, Tolerance,
    Citizenship, and Education.
Freemasonry is honest in business, courteous in
society, forgiving of heart, and reverent to GOD.  It is all these things and much
more.  Freemasonry is a philosophy to live by.
To become a mason, you'll have to ask one.
